This route takes place near the imposing Pico de Orizaba, the highest point in Mexico and the third highest peak in North America. More than a sporting challenge, it is a unique cultural experience in the magical town of Orizaba, famous for its vibrant history, traditions and its importance in Mexican heritage.
Total Distance: 52+ kilometers.
Altitude Range: From 1,244 m to 3,121 m above sea level. This range demands outstanding physical and mental preparation.
Difficulty Level: High. Includes technical sections with steep slopes and rocky terrain that require advanced skyrunning skills.
Surface and Terrain: The route traverses forested trails, rocky paths, and loose terrain. Participants will experience a variety of textures, from compacted earth to stony areas.
Flora and Fauna: The route offers a natural spectacle, with vegetation adapted to the altitude and climate. It is possible to observe endemic species and, occasionally, wild fauna native to the mountains.
Altitude brings significant climatic changes. Runners must be prepared to transition from warm temperatures at low altitudes to extreme cold at higher altitudes.
